16 Central Enterprises "Macro" Join Central Electric Vehicle Alliance

The Electric Vehicle Industry Alliance established by 16 central enterprises was formally established, which marked the birth of the “national team” to improve the overall technical level of the Chinese electric vehicle industry. Yesterday, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council convened the establishment meeting of the Central Electric Vehicle Industry Alliance. It is reported that the main task of the industry alliance is to integrate the resources of the central enterprises, establish an open technology platform to promote the overall development of the electric vehicle industry, unify industrial technology standards, and jointly develop new technology, new products, new solutions, new models, and sharing technologies for electric vehicles. According to reports, the industry alliance is a non-profit organization sponsored by relevant central enterprises. There are currently 16 sponsors, China First Automobile Group Corporation in the field of vehicle and electric drive, China Weaponry Equipment Group Corporation, Dongfeng Motor Corporation, China. Dongfang Electric Group Co., Ltd. and China South Locomotive Corporation; China National Offshore Oil Corporation in the field of batteries, Beijing Nonferrous Metals Research Institute, China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation and China Aviation Industry Corporation; charging and services State Grid Corporation of China, China Putian Information Industry Group Corporation, China National Petroleum Corporation, China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation, China Southern Power Grid Co., Ltd. and China Poly Group Corporation.

It is reported that the immediate goal of the alliance is to promote the unification of relevant technical standards for the electric vehicle industry. The medium- and long-term goal is to master the core technology of electric vehicles and to create an internationally competitive Chinese electric vehicle company and brand. According to the alliance's preparation plan, by 2012 The alliance's investment in the field of new energy vehicles will increase to 100 billion yuan.
