Alfa Laval and its marine industry customers will gain more and more fuel experience in the Alfa Laval Testing and Training Center in Aalborg, Denmark.

According to Peter Leifland, president of Alfa Laval's ship business, Alfa Laval has undergone a major expansion and reopening of the center on March 1. The new 1,350-square-meter center will focus on gaseous fuels and will be The most advanced gas combustion test center in the marine industry. “We are seeing tremendous changes in the shipbuilding industry. Increasingly tightened pollution regulations have prompted many of our customers to switch from traditional fuels to LNG and other alternative fuels. As suppliers, we must closely support our customers, no matter what fuel they choose. ."
Alfa Laval's former test center opened in 2014 and covers an area of only 250 square meters. It is a land-wide full-size machine room with various Alfa Laval products in the center and a 2 MW power Mann four-stroke marine engine. Connected phase integration. The center has been a bridgehead for the development of many important marine sector customers in Alfa Laval, including exhaust gas cleaning, ballast water treatment, steam production and fuel cleaning.
Currently, the new center has added 1,100 cubic meters, mainly focusing on combustion technologies for gases and other alternative fuels. The new equipment includes a burner system, an inert gas system and a core facility – a 23-meter-high complete gas burner (GCU) for an LNG carrier to burn excess vapor. The unit burns 4.5 tons of gas per hour, similar to a gas carrier of 174,000 cubic meters.
It is reported that Alfa Laval has a large portfolio of gas equipment, including dual-fuel boiler system, FCM One Gas booster system, Smit inert gas system and complete heat exchanger. In the future, the company will have more service plans. .
Lars Skytte Jorgensen, vice president of the Alfa Laval Boiler Products Center, pointed out that “there are hundreds of ships currently using LNG fuel, and in the next 15 years, thousands of ships will use LNG as fuel. Obviously, environmental regulations bring this Trends in change, but this shift is largely dependent on advanced technology and many have yet to be developed."
