AusGroup has received rope contract for Ichthys LNG project

The rope contract will be used to support the project's central processing facility and the Floating Production Storage and Offloading Vessel (FPSO) during the connection and pre-commissioning phases.

MAS will be responsible for delivering the rope usage trade activities required for the connection and pre-commissioning phases to support shore-based and offshore investment activities in Western Australia and South Korea.

The project's central processing facility, called Ichthys Explorer, weighs 120,000 tons and is 130 meters long and 120 meters wide. It is 220 kilometers from the northern coast of Western Australia and has been moored for 40 years.

Gas from the central processing facility will be transported to the onshore LNG facility via a 890-kilometer submarine pipeline, but most of the condensate and water will be delivered to the nearby FPSO “Ichthys Venturer”.
