On December 21, the 2013 China Shipping Industry Innovation Conference was held in Beijing. More than 300 representatives from shipping administrations, associations, companies and research institutes delivered keynote speeches and exchanges on the service model innovation in the shipping industry under the new situation. The conference closely follows the theme of shipping development, strengthens the awareness of innovation, and helps the participating companies to find new paths for future development through the sharing of theoretical exchanges and practices. The participants focused on the policy interpretation of the healthy development of transformation and upgrading of the shipping industry, the opportunities and challenges brought by the Shanghai Free Trade Zone to the Chinese shipping industry, and the innovative service models of shipping companies.
The conference was sponsored by China Navigation Weekly magazine. On the same day, China Navigation Weekly magazine also established a “50-nation China Shipping Forum†in conjunction with Dalian Maritime University and the Ministry of Transport and Maritime Sciences.
