Henan check food plastic packaging film (bag) 96% pass

The Henan Provincial Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision released information on January 25, saying that the bureau has recently organized relevant departments for Zhengzhou, Kaifeng, Shangqiu, Luohe, Zhumadian, Xinxiang, Jiaozuo, Zhoukou, Hebi, Luoyang and other 43 provincial cities. Fifty batches of commonly used blown film bags and composite film bags produced by companies were subject to special supervision and inspection, and 48 batches passed the inspection. The product sampling pass rate was 96%. In the second quarter, the qualified rate of sample inspection for supervision and inspection increased by 14.7%.

According to the relevant standards, the spot inspection examined the product's tensile strength and elongation at break, tearing force, heat sealing strength, anti-pendulum impact energy, dart drop impact, thickness, residual solvent, and hygienic performance. The inspection results show that most enterprises can earnestly implement national laws and regulations, update plant equipment, improve inspection capabilities, and formulate quality management systems to ensure the quality of their products. The quality of food packaging products in Henan Province is in good condition.

During the inspection, it was also found that the tearing force, anti-pendulum impact energy, and thickness of some food plastic packaging films (bags) produced by some companies were unqualified, which affected the firmness of the packaging bags and caused them to be easily damaged during use. Loss, deterioration, smelling, and contamination of the packaged goods cause harm to human health. The main reason is that individual manufacturers use stricter or cheaper materials to reduce costs and do not follow the stipulated procedures to strictly inspect batches of raw materials into the factory and products, resulting in products failing to meet national standards.

In response to the problems found in the spot checks, the Henan Provincial Bureau of Quality Supervision has instructed the relevant municipal provincial quality supervision bureaus to strictly follow the requirements of the relevant laws and regulations of the product quality law, and dealt with enterprises that failed the quality inspections in accordance with the law and rectify them within a time limit; recalls unqualified product. At the same time, it is necessary to step up publicity efforts and guide consumption for those enterprises with better quality in spot checks.
