Japan's top three car companies will donate nearly one billion yen to the earthquake-stricken area

Geely Motor News Japan's three major automakers Toyota, Nissan and Honda announced that they will donate 300 million yen (equivalent to 3.75 million U.S. dollars) to the quake-hit areas on the east coast of Japan for relief assistance to victims and post-earthquake reconstruction work.

The Japanese government has started the post-disaster reconstruction work. It is understood that the devastating earthquake and tsunami that broke out on March 11 impacted the industrial city on the east coast of Japan. The production of Japanese car companies, including the above three companies, was hit hard. Nevertheless, they were assisted in disaster relief. It is still not falling behind.

Nissan Motor Company stated that, in addition to financial assistance, they are studying how to provide vehicles (such as forklifts and trucks), medicines, and household items to the disaster area. In addition, employees of Nissan also actively participated in relief activities.

Honda Motor Co. also announced that it will donate 1,000 generators and fuel to the disaster-stricken areas; Toyota is considering providing food or other services to the affected areas.

It is reported that at present, the factories of Japan's three major car manufacturers have stopped production in Japan, and other car manufacturers' factories have also stopped production due to shortages of electricity or spare parts.
