Recently, the National Natural Science Foundation of China (hereinafter abbreviated as “the Committee of the Fundâ€) announced the results of the 2013 Natural Science Foundation Project (concentration acceptance period) review. In the category of approved projects formally announced by the Committee of the Communist Party of China, Peking University has approved a total of 604 projects of various types and approved a total funding of 470 million yuan. Among them, there are 338 projects on the surface, 146 projects on youth science funds, 29 projects on key projects, 3 innovation research group projects, 28 outstanding youth science fund projects, and 2 special free application projects for the development of national major scientific research equipment and equipment. There are 4 Hong Kong-Australia Scholars Cooperative Research Fund Projects, 2 National Basic Science Talents Funds, 30 international (regional) cooperative research projects, and 2 joint fund projects. Peking University continues to maintain its advantages in terms of overall project approval rate and talent team projects. Firstly, during this year's concentrated reception process, our university has applied for 1641 natural science and technology fund projects, with an approval rate of 36.8%, which is a significant improvement over 31.8% in the same period of last year. Second, the approval of excellent youth science funds continues to maintain a good momentum. This talent fund was set up in 2012 and mainly supports young scientists and technicians who have achieved certain scientific research achievements and have good potential for development. The National Fund supports 400 people each year. At present, our school has been approved for 28 consecutive years, ranking first in the country. 3. As of now, a total of 26 innovative research groups (excluding continuation funding) have been approved by Peking University to continue to maintain the leading edge in the country. The Innovation Research Group was established in 2000. It has funded 30 funds each year to support outstanding middle-aged and young scientists as academic leaders and research leaders, conduct innovative research around an important research direction, and cultivate and create innovative research groups.
