Yancheng interviews 26 illegal shipping companies

On December 12, the Local Bureau of Yancheng of Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province interviewed Jianhu, Xiangshui, Sheyang, Yandu, Dongtai and other counties according to the “eight” non-standard issues found during the supervision of the safety management of the shipping company. (City) and the heads of 26 illegal shipping companies in the district put forward their opinions on “face to face” rectification, and ordered the rectification within a limited time to ensure the improvement of the safety management level of shipping companies.

Yancheng is a major water transport city in Jiangsu Province and even the whole country. There are 176 inland shipping companies and 15,000 operational ships in the area. In order to ensure the stability of the maritime traffic safety situation in the area under its jurisdiction, in the past few days, according to the different conditions of the safety management of the shipping companies in 9 counties (cities) and districts, the Bureau has divided, classified and separately conducted safety production analysis assessment and supervision guidance. It will firmly promote the shipping company's sense of responsibility that “safety is the greatest benefit”.

After analysis and evaluation and supervision and inspection by the Bureau, most of the shipping companies in the city have a stable production safety situation. However, compared with the safety supervision requirements of aviation companies, 26 shipping companies have no fixed operating premises and cannot rectify or accept daily security as required. In response to the eight existing problems, the bureau interviewed the principal responsible persons of the companies, clarified that it was the first person responsible for ship safety and pollution prevention, and urged them to take the initiative to accept the supervision and inspection of the maritime department, and at the same time, strengthen the awareness of safety and responsibility.
