Pyrite concentrate is a raw material for acid production. The residue and soot remaining after pyrolysis of the pyrite concentrate are collectively referred to as pyrite cinder (sulfate slag), which is referred to as slag, and the slag is porous, and the main components are hematite and magnetite. Containing a small amount of pyrite and pyrrhotite containing silver , copper and residual, in addition to the high content of gold in the pyrite cinder of acid as gold concentrate, the content of gold in the general slag is less than 0.5~ 2 g / ton or less, slightly higher 5 ~ 10 g / ton.
     2. Method for recovering gold from pyrite cinder
     It is difficult to recover gold from pyrite cinder with low gold content. For economical considerations, cyanide is currently used. After the slag is discharged from the roaster, it is usually cooled with water and then subjected to dehydration, grinding and washing. The purpose of washing is to remove impurities such as copper sulfate, acid, metal chloride and iron salt. Otherwise, these impurities will be mixed into the cyanidation operation, which will increase the consumption of cyanide and charcoal, the dissolution of passivated gold and the gold. The precipitation process is complicated, and the washing operation includes steps such as hydrocyclone classification, concentration, and filtration. After the washing operation is completed, the alkali (lime) treatment is carried out, and the pH of the slurry is adjusted to 10.5~11.5 (2~3 before adjustment), and the cyanide leaching is sent. The purpose of adding alkali is to neutralize the slurry. The acid is used to make cyanide under alkaline conditions, reducing the consumption of cyanide and increasing the leaching rate of gold. For different properties of the slag, the time of alkali treatment is different.
